Inexpensive Appliance Handle

A rose is a rose by any other name.

But when a handle is an "appliance handle" it is much more expensive.

Why is that?

I said - stop the madness on $250 "appliance handles"!

Refusing to pay $200 - $500 for the 2 handles I needed, I went in search of an alternative.

And I found a great one! Or shall I say two!

Inexpensive Alternative to Appliance Handles

I searched all the hardware sites.  I looked on etsy.  I considered towel bars vintage & new.

Then I was in Home Depot and I spotted them.

A whole section of "safety grip" handles.

You know the ones for in the shower or tub.  Whoa!! Perfect!!

Found the answer!!

At only $19.98 a piece I grabbed two, then two more to decide which style I liked best.

Yes, there are styles and different finishes of safety bars - aka inexpensive appliance handles.

The set I decided on is by Delta.  You can check them out here.

My handles are 9 and 7/8 long & the circular bit is 2 & 1/4 inches in diameter.  Perfect for my very tall fridge & freezer!

The safety bars/handles are very sturdy and solid with a slim enough profile for appliance cabinetry.

I am so pleased with my discovery that I had to share right away.

Even before I had a chance to dab a little bronze paint on the screws.

The bronze screws that came with the handle, being for tile, were little to long.

Keep this in mind & pick up some shorter screws when you get your handles.

Sharing even before I have had a chance to style my kitchen.

Just bare bones right now...oh, I do have this little trio sitting on the stove.
