My Day, but this one is really for YOU!
Today is my birthday and the anniversary of the launch of my blog.
Five years ago today, I held my breath, said a little prayer, made that 'eek' sorta face and clicked publish!
Even when it seemed I was going no where fast and working my butt off to get there, I never regretted taking the chance.
Taking the chance on my thoughts, ideas ~ my dream. Taking a chance on myself.
This post is my gift to anyone who has a thought, an idea ~ a dream bouncing around in their head and nestled in their heart.
My advice is:
take that chance ~ reinvent yourself ~ pursue what makes your heart beat faster ~ go for it!
Even if it doesn't work out 100% the way you imagine you'll never regret trying.
Don't let other people discourage you from taking that chance on yourself.
Those people are voicing their own limitations not yours.
When I shared with a friend 5 years ago that I had just started a blog, the response was "you'll run out of things to say".
Well, at the time that comment made me hesitate, but just for a second. It did leave me speechless, but just for a minute or two. When I got home, boy did I think of things to say ;).
Fact is, I have not run out of things to say because I am passionate about what I do and I can't wait to wake up each day & "say" more of it.
That is the best part of taking a chance on what is bouncing around in your head & nestled in your heart is that you love it so much it never feels like work.
Of course, not everyday will be easy. In fact, most days in the beginning will be hard & you'll hear those negative voices in your head. Shut them out - focus on your dream, whatever it is, and work toward it.
Each step you take toward fulfilling your dream is a step toward fulfilling yourself.
When you take a chance on yourself and pursue your passion, you will never ever run out of whatever you need to keep going.
Whether you are new to My Soulful Home or have been with me from the beginning, I am so grateful that you took a chance on me. Thank you for reading, listening, commenting & caring about what I have to say. You all have made my dream a reality.
