Farmhouse Glam Christmas in the Kitchen

I have been dreaming of this Christmas since I laid eyes on our 1886 Victorian Farmhouse.

When we first met our American beauty she was not looking her best.

That was then ~ this is now.

Last year we had no kitchen - literally no kitchen.  Just a micro & dorm sized fridge set up in the sad dining room.

This year we not only have a kitchen, but a Christmas tree in it!  Grateful!!

Grateful to be in a position to share my home with you and grateful to Lory of Designthusiam for putting this fantastic tour together.  If you are heading over from Decor Gold ~ Welcome!

Farmhouse Glam Christmas

My palette for the whole house is white, grey, black, mixed metals and earthy textures.  All with a sprinkling of sparkle and shine.

This adds up to my version of farmhouse glam.  Perfectly suited for a farmhouse in LA!

I love sequins with ripped jeans, burlap with bling, crystal with tarnished silver.  The juxtaposition brings out the best of both elements and creates interest.

What a difference a year makes.

Christmas 2015 our kitchen was demo'ed and looked like this...

There was NO place to use my golden flatware in 2015!

Before we tore it out, it looked like... Well, you really need to see the video to get the whole picture.

(If you haven't see it, watch the BEFORE video - but don't if you are eating granola)

After 365 days & whole lot of effort our kitchen is my favorite place on earth.

The perfect place to enjoy a Christmas breakfast, so that is what we'll do this year.

This is the way I'll set the table come December 24th so it is all ready for the morning.

The flowers will be white mixed with rosemary & sage, so I can use some leaves & stems for the roast duck that we'll later enjoy in the dining room.

I love candle light all day long so there will be white tapers.  Anyway, my kids get up so early on Christmas it will probably still be a bit dark.

You can tell I have been planning this Christmas for a while!

Kinda hoping for a cloudy morning so the tree lights can really shine.

Clouds or sun, fair skies or stormy...this Christmas will be very special for my family.

We dreamed, sweated, toiled, created, sacrificed and now we can gather in the place we made home.
