I so enjoyed planting my container garden.

Really couldn't wait to show you...

I put it together on Wednesday, right after launching the bHome app.

Excited, nervous, filled with anticipation, I had to get out of the house & focus on something else.

Gardening was the perfect productive distraction ~ and I had all those beautiful plants waiting for me!

How to plant a Container Garden:

Choose plants that like the same amount of water & sun.

Select containers with drainage or add pebbles to create drainage.

Enrich the soil with a slow release fertilizer, like my 3 secrets.

Loosen roots of pot bound plants by pulling away the bottom clump of roots. This encourages the plant to set out fresh roots in its new container.

Place the container in a location that affords the right amount of light. (who wants to lug pots around chasing the sun?)

If you do all that you will have a healthy container garden, but there is more...

The plants have to look good together!

How to plant a Beautiful Container Garden:

Chose a foundational plant for height & structure.

Let symmetry be your guide in placing the plants in a mixed container.

Select a mid sized flowering plant & repeat it.

Enrich the look of the container with foliage of different textures.

Place small annuals or trailing plants as filler & to soften the container.

Use several containers of varying height & width to create an interesting grouping.

Add moss or bark chips to fill in & cover the dirt.  Makes for a nice appearance & helps retain moisture.

If you do all that you will have a beautiful container garden.

Take all my suggestions & you will have a healthy & beautiful container garden that will last all season.

The annuals can be replaced as the seasons change, but the foundational plant & trailing plants can remain.  Making for an easy transition.

I am really enjoying my white palette container garden.  It is so calming & peaceful.

In direct contrast to the exciting & busy time I am having with the launch of bHome.

Have you downloaded bHome yet?  I hope you will join us.  It is easy, free and so much fun.

Hope to see you over there too!
